For those who want to teach the Bellydance Cohesion syllabus to others, they may enroll in the Teacher Trainings in addition to the Enrichment Courses.
The Teacher Trainings are designed for current and aspiring bellydance instructors and studio directors who want an organized and graduated approach to teaching bellydance.
During each stage of Teacher Training, I provide class maps for each unit and we practice delivering the lessons from the point of view of the teacher. I offer my tips and advice for effective and encouraging ways to transmit this information to students.
Bellydance Cohesion teacher training courses are for (current and aspiring) bellydance teachers who:
Desire pre-organized, well-thought-out, lesson plans that develop brand new dancers to advanced, well-informed, practitioners in a methodical and graduated way.
Would like to spend more time relating to their students and less time planning what to teach.
Want to instruct their students in a thoughtful way about the musical and historical contexts that help shape this dance form.
The Stage 1 Teacher Training is open to anyone who has completed the Stage 1 Enrichment Course within the last 18 months.
The Stage 2 Teacher Training is open to anyone who has passed the Stage 1 Teacher Evaluation and who has completed the Stage 2 Enrichment Course within the last 18 months.
The Stage 3 Teacher Training is open to anyone who has passed the Stage 2 Teacher Evaluation and who has completed the Stage 3 Enrichment Course within the last 18 months.
Each Teacher Training ends with an in-class 2-part Teacher Evaluation, including:
Practice-instruction on one unit, or a partial unit, of the corresponding stage.
Performance on the Student Assessment given at the end of the corresponding stage.
Participants must pass the in-class Teacher Evaluation in order to become a Bellydance Cohesion Trained Teacher and enroll in the next stage of Teacher Training.
If the Teacher Evaluation is not passed in class, individuals may submit a video of their Student Assessment performance within 12 months of completing the teacher training (along with a $25 re-testing fee).
If the Teacher Evaluation is not passed within 12 months of taking the Teacher Training, individuals must re-enroll in the Teacher Training to be eligible to retake the Teacher Evaluation.
